Ikorodu youths set to march to Governor Fashola's office over poor representation

With the end of cabinet and swearing in of another just around the corner, The aggrieved people of Ikorodu - Lagos, have decided to march to the Governor's office. They are angered by the poor representation of the area in the state.

 
The Ikorodu Ambassadors has planned to trek from Ikorodu to Governor Babatunde Fashola’s office at Alausa to register their grievances over the poor representation of the area in the outgoing cabinet in the state.
 
It also called on the residents of the area to join the walk to Alausa sheduled for Friday, May 15, 2015. According to the coordinator of the group, Rasheed Fatuga, "people of Ikorodu Division have supported and voted massively for the APC in the last general election and they deserve a better treatment. This is not a protest but an appeal, and our appeal goes to the Lagos State government, the APC leaders in Ikorodu Division and in Lagos State,” he stated.
 
The group said rather than protest, it is appealing to the leadership of the governing party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Ikorodu for principal positions like Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, commissionership, directors of boards and special advisers amongst others.
 
“Kick off time would be 7am, any interested person that is ready psychologically and physically can join us in the trek but if you cannot trek, you can bid us farewell as we move or wait for us at the main gate of Alausa Secretariat,” the group said.
 
It was gathered that the march is to protest the poor representation of Ikorodu Division in the outgoing cabinet in Lagos State.
