The Plateau State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 elections, Gyang Pwajok, is dead.

The Head of his media team during the elections, Chuwang Dung, confirmed the development to journalists in Jos, via a telephone interview. He however said an official statement would be issued by the late Pwajok’s family later.

Premiums Times reported that Pwajok died late Wednesday in an Indian hospital.

It will be recalled that the former senator and governorship candidate of the PDP narrowly lost the election to Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress. He was also the immediate past senator for Plateau northern senatorial district.

Pwajok succeeded late Senator Gyang Dantong, who died of shock while attending a mass burial of persons killed by insurgents in Barkinladi in 2012.
