Former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, has just been confirmed by Nigerian Senate at the National Assembly Abuja as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Amaechi faced the toughest screening and confirmation process out of any of the nominees submitted to the Senate by President Buhari as his Senate screening was postponed three times.
During his confirmation today, the PDP senators, staged a walk out in protest of the confirmation of Amaechi. The Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, led the walk-out.
