Senate President Bukola Saraki, will today receive the verdict on his case filed in the Abuja court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeal sitting will today, October 30, deliver judgment in Senate President Bukola Saraki’s case.
The Senate President, who is standing trial on a 13-count charge of false assets declaration before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), has appealed the tribunal’s decision to try him.
The appelate court after taking arguments from parties on October 16, fixed judgment for 2pm on October 19. However It did not give verdict on the aforementioned date.
It was learnt yesterday that notices have been sent to the parties informing them about today’s date.
The delay by the Court of Appeal to deliver its judgment stalled proceedings before the CCT, which at its last sitting, chose to await the appellate court’s decision before taking any further steps in Saraki’s trial.
Respondents in the appeal are the CCT, the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), the Federal Ministry of Justice and a lawyer in the ministry, Muslim Hassan.
