Many Abuja residents have come out en masse to protest against the military takeover of their land.
Osinbajo came out to plead with the aggrieved residents
Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was forced to disembark from his car after some aggrieved Abuja residents blocked his convoy along Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Laolu Akande, Snr Special Assistant-Media & Publicity to the Vice President, the FCT residents protested alleged land takeover by the military.
The Vice-President got down and engaged the people while proposing to meet with their leaders with a view to finding an amicable solution.
“On his way to the airport just now, VP Osinbajo runs into a group of FCT residents protesting alleged land takeover bid by the military.
“He gets down, engages the people, proposing to meet with their leaders on the matter & intervene with a view to finding an amicable solution,” Laolu Akande wrote on Twitter.
