A Nigerian doctor has been killed while serving the nation in the National Youth Service Corps programme.
Friends of the medical doctor, identified as Dr. Ike Stephen, have been gutted by the development.
Local reports show that Dr. Ike Stephen was undergoing the mandatory one year National Youth Service in northern Nigerian when he was involved in a fatal accident involving a commercial tricycle, popularly known as keke napep.
Stephen was reportedly an exceptional man, an outstanding student, and was responsible for his parents and siblings, including their education.
Friends and former colleagues have shared glowing tributes as they mourn him.
