The Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong has emerged as the chairman of the 19 northern governors Forum. His emergence followed the expiration of the outgoing Chairman of the forum Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima.
Reading the communique at the end of the forum ‘s Meeting, Kashim Shettima said the governor would take over his new position with effect on 29 May, 2019. The new Chairman of the forum in his acceptance speech thanked his colleagues for the gesture bestowed on him.
He also promised not to betray their trust as he also commended the outgoing Chairman Kashim Shettima who he described as very hard working Leader.
