The incident happened at Eko bridge on Thursday night.
Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, his predecessors, took similar actions while in office.

In 2012, Fashola cautioned K I Yusuf, a colonel, who was using bus rapid transit (BRT) lane in the Marina area of the state.
Ambode also did the same to a driver who violated traffic incident in Ikeja, the state capital, in 2015.
