A mom has inexplicably knifed her daughter in a fit of rage before trying to take her own life.
A 16-year-old girl died of stab wounds and her 36-year-old Filipino mother is in critical condition after apparently stabbing herself at their home in a failed murder-suicide attempt.
The two were discovered by police accompanied by a relative at around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday night, Fuji TV reported.
The relative had been worried at being unable to contact the woman. It is believed the mother stabbed the daughter over an unknown disagreement. The mother and daughter lived with a Japanese man who was out at the time of the incident.
The two were taken to the hospital where the daughter was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
The woman will be charged to court for murder after recovery.
