Nigeria's Super Eagles slid down the ladder in the latest football ranking released by the world football governing body yesterday.

Super Eagles fell to the 59th position globally and 12th spot in Africa in the FIFA Ranking released on Thursday, November 5.

Although Nigeria had trumped the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun 3-0 in an international friendly in Belgium last month, this did not reflect in the ranking.

The senior team fell down the ladder seven places to be ranked 12th on the list led by Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroun, Congo, Guinea, Congo DR for the continent’s November top ten standings.

The Pharaohs of Egypt are in the 11th spot, a step ahead of Nigeria.

In the global ranking, Belgium soared to the top spot for the first time in their football history due largely to the 3-1 win over Israel in their final Euro 2016 qualifier last month.

World Cup winners, Germany are in the second spot with Argentina, Portugal, Chile, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, England and Austria making up the top ten of global soccer.
