Thirteen days after abducting Mrs Beauty Siasia, the 76-year-old mother of ex-Super Eagles striker, Samson Siasia, the kidnappers have yet to free the septuagenarian and two other women abducted alongside her.

Beauty was kidnapped at her Odoni family compound in the Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State by unknown gunmen on the night of July 15, 2019.

The kidnappers came around 2am in the dead of the night and fled through River Nun into the creeks after abducting Mrs Siasia.

The kidnappers had already contacted the family demanding a ransom. While the ransom has yet to be paid, Beauty and two other victims – Mrs Florence Douanana, 65, and her 17-year-old daughter, Selekire – are still in the kidnappers’ den.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Uche Anozia, had while visiting the scene of the abduction said the police had deployed their marine unit to comb the creeks and rescue the victims.

“The police tactical team is on top of the game to rescue the victims. I am assuring the public and the victims’ relatives that no stone will be left unturned.

“We have deployed the police marine component in the creeks in the area. The command will continue to work hard to take control of the marine landscape in the state,” he said.
