Traditional Ruler Of Buhari's Hometown Returns Home Three Months After Being Kidnapped

A traditional ruler of President Muhammadu Buhari's hometown has finally returned home months after his kidnap.

Accordingt to Punch Metro, the Magajin Garin Daura (District head), Alhaji Musa Umar, on Wednesday, returned to Daura after his three months’ absence from the town following his kidnap by unknown gunmen on May 1, 2019.

The Police rescued Umar on July 2 in Kano but he thereafter travelled abroad.

The ancient town of Daura was thrown into a joyous mood on Wednesday as residents trooped out in their large numbers to welcome the freed district head.

Residents lined up the streets of Daura and joined the district head in a carnival-like procession around the town shortly after his convoy arrived in the town at about 12pm.
 
He was driven in a black Lexus Jeep with registration number ABUJA: ABC 30 FK.

Security was tight as a combined team of the Nigerian Army, Customs services, Department of State Services and regular police accompanied his convoy.

The district head visited the  palace of the Emir of Daura, Dr Umar  Faruq Umar, who expressed appreciation to  God and Nigerians for the rescue of the district head and his safe return home.
