Heavy Rain: Total Blackout Hits Jimeta, Yola

YEDC noted that, technical teams have been deployed to monitor the situation, while assuring that, power supply will be restored as soon as situation is under control.

 
 
The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has confirmed that two of its substations in Adamawa State are currently out of service, following a heavy downpour that caused flooding in those facilities.
 
A statement issued on Thursday by the company and made available to DAILY POST, indicated that, areas affected by this sad development were Jimeta, Yola town and its environs.
 
The statement read, “This is to inform you that Yola 132/33KV TCN Substation & Jambutu injection substation is out of service due to heavy rainfall this evening that caused flooding at the substations.

“The areas affected are Jimeta, Yola Town & environs.”
 
YEDC noted that, technical teams have been deployed to monitor the situation, while assuring that, power supply will be restored as soon as situation is under control.
 
“We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this might have caused”, YDEC pleaded.
