According to The Nation, the residents of Hotoro Layin Mai Allo and Yandodo Hotorol in Nassarawa local government area of Kano state are still baffled over the arrest of Hamisu Bala Wadume, a suspected kidnap kingpin in their neighbourhood.

Wadume, who was trailed to his hide out in Hotoro Layin Mai Allo, has been whisked to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for questioning.

A The Nation correspondent, who visited Layin Mai Allo, spoke with residents many of whom said they were unaware of his presence and arrest by security operatives.

A petty trader said: ”I am not aware of any arrest in this area.”

His neighbor, Malam Mohammed ldris, said he only heard about the news in the local radio and he was so surprise to realise that the culprit was hidding in their area.

” You know there is no how we the ordinary people would know what was going on had it been that there was gun shot, we could have been attracted by that but since the operatives carried out the task silently there was no how people could be aware of the incident,”
he stated.

Hajiya Aisha Abubakar said even women at home were not aware of the operation.

“We could have heard it from the grape vine if not for the fact that every thing was carried out clandestinely by the operatives.

“You can see that people are going about their normal businesses and no one is even talking about any arrest because of their ignorance over the matter,” she stated.
