UK Commission: Obasanjo Foundation is Notorious for Corruption

Olusegun Obasanjo's Foundation has come under scrutiny since the CEO, Anna Welsh was caught up in a money laundering scandal. New reports show that the Foundation has previously been associated with many allegations of corruption.

 
The UK Charity Commission has revealed that it has been receiving many allegations of corruption concerning the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation in London and that it has opened a broad investigation into these allegations, according to PUNCH.
 
“We have received complaints about this charity and issues including alleged conflicts of interest and alleged financial misconduct," UKCC’s spokesperson, Sarah Hitchings, said.
 
“We have recently become aware of further information about potential wrong-doing at the charity which is of regulatory concern to the commission and we are currently considering this new information. We cannot comment further while our case is live.”

“We currently have an open case in relation to this charity and have been in contact with the trustees.
 
No information was given concerning actions taken against recently sacked London-based Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Anne Welsh, on allegations of money laundering.
