A woman has paid the ultimate price for wearing a denim jeans against her husband's wish.
An angry and drunk husband has battered his wife to death with an iron rod for daring to wear a denim trouser.
The incident happened in Sri Lanka on the night of Wednesday, November 4 after an argument ensued between the couple.
The couple’s younger daughter was at home during the incident. Their elder daughter was under probation for some incident which happened a few months ago but was absent.
An acting magistrate who visited the scene of crime for inquiry, ordered the body to be taken for postmortem at Kuliyapitiya base hospital.
Police have arrested the suspect for the crime who will soon be charged to court after investigation is completed.
