Buhari demands to be addressed as President not General from May 29

The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he doesn't want to be referred to as the 'General' after May 29th, 2015.

Nigeria's President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that starting from May 29 he no longer wants to be addressed with the title 'General'.

Buhari made the disclosure via a statement signed by the head of his media team Mallam Garba Shehu .

The statement reads, ''From May 29, 2015, the President-elect and Vice-President-elect are to be respectively known and addressed as Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria''.
