Assembly Suspends Two Lawmakers Over Desecration of Chambers

Delta state House of Assembly has suspended two lawmakers over an alleged desecration of the hallow chamber.

 
The members who were suspended on Tuesday, November 12, were chief whip, Pat Ajudua and Johnson Erijo, a member representing Isoko South ll Constituency.

According to Daily Post, the motion for the suspension of the lawmakers was moved by the majority leaders, Tim Owhefere.
 
Owhefere explained that the sanctity of the Assembly must be respected. He noted that the two lawmakers had run foul of Assembly rules.

Owhefere’s motion was unanimously adopted by the Assembly and was seconded by minority leader, Festus Okoh.

Monday Igbuya, the Speaker of the Assembly, advised members of the Assembly to work very hard to achieve good legislative work for peace and good government for the benefit of the people.
