A drunk dad is regretting his life after his carelessness led to the death of his daughter left in his care.

A drunk dad killed her 14-week-old baby after he tried changing her nappy.
Skylar Cowan Gallagher was just 14-weeks-old when she was left in the care of her dad, Stephen Gallagher, after the baby's mother had gone out for the evening. She returned to find her dead daughter face down on the rug.
Gallagher had got so intoxicated he urinated under a fish tank in the family home and couldn't remember what had happened. The evidence suggested that Gallagher tried to change his daughter's nappy while drunk and she had ended up on the rug without a nappy on.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the little girl suffered with no injuries but she was unable to be revived and the cause of death was asphyxiation. Judge John Milford QC jailed Gallagher for two-and-a-half years for causing or allowing the death of a child because of "the overindulgence of her father”.
During Gallagher's police interview he admitted that he didn't remember how much he had drunk but 11 cans of beer and cider were found by officers, the court heard.
