About 74 people including underage children were severely injured when the glass balcony of a nightclub collapsed on people.
The disturbing footage shows the moment the glass balcony of a nightclub in Malta collapsed shattering on people around and injuring about 74.
Screams can be heard in the footage as several dozen people fall in the distance fall beneath the floor. Two victims are in intensive care and at least 16 people suffered serious injuries when the floor shattered beneath their feet on Saturday night in Paceville, Malta.
Two girls aged 13 and 15 were also being treated at hospital after being struck by shards of glass. All of the patients treated were aged between 13 and 25. At least five were under 16 years old.
Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat has visited the hospital and praised the medical team. He said it was unacceptable that underage people were in the club and wants a full investigation.
Mr Muscat said: "The fact that there were so many children – because that is what they are – in a nightclub when we have clear laws is something that concerns me and angers me."
