Charlotte Farhan, who is an editor of the online magazine, Art Saves Lives International, has announced that she will not be changing her profile picture to France's Flag.
Facebook users across the globe have been showing their solidarity with people in Paris by overlaying their profile pictures with the colours of the French flag.
However, Charlotte Farhan believes it would be wrong to only change her picture for the Paris attacks.
The social network is encouraging people to "support the people of France and the people of Paris" by customising their profile pictures.
Millions of people have already chosen to change their profile pictures in light of the atrocity which has left 129 dead and dozens more critically injured.
The French editor says it would be "wrong" to only do this following the Paris tragedy.
In a Facebook post, she said: "I won't be changing my profile to the French flag even though I am French and from Paris. The reason for this is that if I did this for only Paris this would be wrong.
"If I did this for every attack on the world, I would have to change my profile everyday several times a day.
