The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspects were killed at Santar Na’ade village where another villager was also killed on Saturday.

The rustlers had attacked the village after they carried out successful operation earlier on Thursday Nov. 12 in Tsamiyar Jino, Barwa and Pauwa villages.

Sources said that the rustlers invaded the four villages in two separate attacks and carted away many animals.

One of the villagers, Malam Ali Audu of Tsamiyar Jino revealed that the bandits invaded the villages in large number, wielding dangerous weapons and directing the villagers to surrender their animals.

He said that after the Thursday operation, the rustlers drove their booty through a nearby forest, while some of them stayed behind for hours terrorizing the residents.

Health officials at Kankara General Hospital confirmed that dozens of people, mostly with matchete cuts, were receiving treatment at the hospital.
