A video has exposed the gross indiscipline on the part of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority ( LASTMA) officials who engage motorists in a scuffle constituting nuisance to the society when other disciplined measures or ways can be used to enforce the law.
This video justifies Lagos state governor's decision to reduce the powers of LASTMA who have become 'lords' on their own and are known to extort money from motorists as bribes instead of writing reciepts for offenders.
On Monday 16 November, LASTMA officials at Berger, Lagos state unprofessionally tried to seize a bus that had a punctured tyre. The officials who have been warned not to enter into vehicles defiled the order entered into the bus and even sparred with the driver.
