The passage of the 2020 budget has reportedly suffered some setback in the Nigerian senate.

Senate

According to The Nation, the expected passage of the 2020 budget by the Senate this week is no longer feasible.

Reason: The Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriation, Barau Jibrin, told the Senate on Tuesday that the report is not ready.

He asked the Senate for one more week to enable the committee to complete the report and lay it on Tuesday December 3 alongside the details.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, approved the request and said that the report of the budget must be laid “unfailingly” by the committee next Tuesday so that the Senate can consider and pass it next week.
