The dangers of going to quack nurses was exposed recently as a nursing mother died of complications in the hands of a quack nurse.
A quack nurse from Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo local government area of Ondo State (Name withheld) has been arrested by men of the State Police Command over the death of a nursing mother, simply identified as Ayo.
She was arrested after family of the deceased who were not suspicious of the circumstances leading to her death made a report at the police station.
Police discovered that the suspect was an auxiliary nurse at Miracle Centre Medical Clinic at Bamikemo village in Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo local council and that she has no professional qualification to handle such medical job.
One of the neighbours of the deceased who narrated how everything happened said: “Ayo delivered a set of twins successfully but later developed complication and she was rushed to the clinic where the suspect works before she kicked the bucket.
“Before Ayo was rushed to the clinic, the suspect made frantic effort to save her life but the issue was beyond her.”
The corpse of the deceased was said to have been deposited at the State General Hospital, Ile Oluji.
