Fuel scarcity has become another big challenge to Nigerians in recent weeks after long queues at filling stations. Some Nigerians have slept at filling stations, keeping vigil to know when fuel will be sold as captured in these photographs.

At a fuel station on LASU-Ojo road, customers were forced to keep vigil and motorists barely have a chance of buying fuel.

It was the insinuation in some quarters that the present administration will bring an end to the issue of fuel scarcity but a standoff with the oil marketers is making things very difficult.

Two weeks ago the federal government approved payment of 413 billion naira ($2 billion) in subsidies, some dating from 2014, but funds are yet to be transferred because it has not been approved by the Senate.

According to Reuters, importers have not been paid their subsidy since Buhari succeeded Goodluck Jonathan and the delay has worsened the financial crunch for importers.
