Governor Wike Approves N30,000 Minimum Wage For Workers

Workers in Rivers state are in for merriment after the Governor of the state approved new minimum wage for workers.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has approved the payment of the N30,000 minimum wage monthly salary for employees of the Rivers State Public Service.
 
The government made this known in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim.
 
Nsirim stated that the approval of the N30,000 minimum wage comes with the consequential salary adjustments as approved by the Federal Government.
 
The statement, however, did not disclose whether public servants in the state will start receiving the new minimum wage from this month, January.
