Card Readers Record Fingerprint Failings in Kogi Governorship Elections

The governorship elections in Kogi state is underway and card reader fingerprint failures have been recorded.

The governorship election in Kogi state started off this Saturday morning across the state with a slightly good turnout of voters at various polling units but with some hitches as some failings have been recorded with fingerprints, ThisDay reports.

There was tight security everywhere as a combined team of security operatives mounted surveillance on key road networks even as accreditation commenced at 8am in Omala LGA in Kogi state

At the polling unit in Odu Ogbuyaga Market Square in Dekina where the governor and the PDP candidate, Capt. Idris Wada,  is expected to vote, accreditation started at 8.20am, although the governor is yet to come for his accreditation as at 9.20am.

Similarly, accreditation commenced about 8am in Ogbunicha polling unit in Alooma in Ofu Local Government Area where the APC governorship candidate, Audu Abubakar, is expected to vote.

At the Crowther Memorial College polling centre in Lokoja metropolis, accreditation began at 8.15 am. The polling unit is subdivided into two voting points - A and B.

The Presiding Officer, Abiebide Odianose, who spoke to journalists, said that accreditation is going on without any hitch except for cases of finger print failures.
