A Nigerian man who tried to escape through the exit door of an airport was caught by police who discovered that he had ingested Cocaine.
A 42-year-old Nigerian visitor whose name was not given allegedly tried to smuggle 98 capsules, containing 1.6kg of cocaine, in his intestines, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
According to emirate247, the man was intercepted by an anti-narcotic officer at the Dubai airport who asked for his passport only for the passenger to run away using the emergency exit. But, Police chased and caught him, searching him, he admitted to having capsules in his intestines.
However, he denied knowing what the drug was. He said that he was to receive a call to hand over the capsules. The man vomited about 98 capsules that contained cocaine.
The court will reconvene on January 28 for further hearing as police investigation into the matter continues.
