Woman Arrested for Calling Emergency Services to Divert Police So She Could Drink While Driving Home'

A woman has been arrested for allegedly calling the 911 emergency number to divert police from catching her drink-driving home.

Hayley Oates is a 25-year-old woman who called 911 emergency services so that she could divert the police from stopping her drink-driving home.
 
According to Mirror Online, Oates posted that police were "silly piggies" on social media shortly after she made the call.

Oates who is from Parsippany, New Jersey, USA, allegedly called the police to report an assault on a female at a bar in northern New Jersey.

Police say that the caller reported the assailant was in a blue truck, before terminating the call. Although officers attended, they found no such assault or victims, and security cameras confirmed this, according to WPXI .

Oates reportedly later posted to social media: "lmao... 2 mins later the cop peals out... silly piggies tricks r for u".

Police say they were tipped off that the call was a hoax and also told about the post online, according to NJ.com .

Oates has been charged with filing false reports to law enforcement and creating a false public alarm.
