I Still Cannot Believe Abubakar Audu is Dead - Governor Wada

The governor of Kogi state has opened up on the way he feels about the passing away of his closest rival at the recent Kogi guber elections, Abubakar Audu.

The governor of Kogi state, Idris Wada on Wednesday said that he was yet to come to terms with the sudden death of Abubakar Audu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 21 governorship election.

NAN reports that Wada, who spoke at Ogbonicha, the hometown of the deceased, during the third day Fida’u prayers, said the death still remained a shock and mystery to him and the people of the state.

He said Audu would continue to be remembered for his selfless service to humanity adding that he died at a time when his services were still needed.

Represented by Yomi Awoniyi, his deputy, Wada said the deceased touched so many lives in the state, while serving as governor from 1991 to 1993 and 1999 to 2003.

It will be recalled that Audu died on Sunday shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election as inconclusive.
