A woman in the heat of anger has brutally killed her lover in Imo state during an altercation.

One Chinelo Joseph has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing her lover.
The police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikokwwu, told our correspondent that the suspect killed her lover, one Okenna Ekwebelem, during an altercation.
He said, “On March 28, 2020, operatives of the Divisional Police Headquarters, Okigwe, acting on a report, arrested one Chinelo Joseph for the murder of one Okenna Ekwebelem.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that both of them had been in a relationship for some time and on the day of the incident, Chinelo Joseph visited the deceased and after spending time with him, she decided to leave and the deceased refused; she objected and insisted on leaving and as soon as she left, the late Okenna ran and blocked her and directed her to go back to his house, which she refused.
“This led to an altercation and he began to beat her; then in retaliation, she picked up a piece of iron and hit him in the chest and he fell down and died on the spot.
“The corpse has been deposited in a morgue and the suspect has been arrested and she has confessed to the crime; she will be prosecuted accordingly.”
