Tragic! 35-year-old Man Slits His Own Throat in Kebbi

A man who might have been fed up with life, took his life in a most bizarre way in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

A 35-year-old man has reportedly slit his own throat and died in the process. The incident happended in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State. 
 
According to witnesses  the deceased Maniru Isah, married with one wife and three children locked himself in his toilet and slit his throat after ensuring that his wife and children had gone to sleep in their resident at Badariya, a suburb in Birnin Kebbi local government of the state.
   
Jamilu Bawa, a friend and neighbour of the deceased said he was alerted by the wife around 1:58am on Wednesday morning when she discovered that her husband had locked himself in the toilet and did not respond to her knock and calls.
 
"Late Isah's wife woke me up from sleep with a call from his number seeking for my assistant suspecting that he may have fallen seriously sick in the toilet.

"Upon reaching the house, I forced the door open when we did not get any response from several knocks on the locked toilet door.

"I peeped into the toilet and discovered Isah's slaughtered from the throat and lying dead in a pool of his own blood and immediately alerted other neighbours.”
 
The body of the deceased was deposited at the Sir Yahaya General Hospital in Birnin Kebbi and later released to the family for burial according to Islamic rites. 
 
Kebbi state Police spokesperson, ASP Nafiu Abubakar, while confirming the incident said preliminary investigation indicated a suicide case.
