Drama in Delta state as National youth corps member almost choked his girlfriend to death out of a jealous rage.

A batch ‘B’ corps member in Delta state, identified as Jeremiah Osewe, almost choked his girlfriend to death at the Issele-Uku orientation camp in Asaba.

The female corper, Stella Omorodion, had a boyfriend before coming to camp to have a new one, Leadership reports.

However, trouble started when Stella’s old boyfriend redeployed from Zamfara state to Delta state, and after making enquiries discovered that Stella was in the camp at Issele-Uku. They continued their love affair, and it didn’t take long for the new camp boyfriend to notice Stella and her former boyfriend.

He was enraged on seeing them at the popular Mammy Market in the community  and he allegedly mobilized his friends to the scene.

On getting to the scene, the angry corps member grabbed the neck of the victim and started squeezing it till she almost died before fellow corps members rushed to the scene.

Speaking to The Sun, the state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Esther Etukudo, said, “We got the report of what transpired between two NYSC members and our findings revealed that it was a rival love relationship; the girl was almost strangled to death by the angry corps member who claimed to be her boyfriend after what would have been a bloodbath; they took the girl to the hospital for treatment and the boy was sanctioned for indiscipline.”
