Kidnapped Siasia's Mother Finally Regains Freedom

The men of the Nigerian Police have finally rescued the mother of Samson Siasia from the den of her kidnappers.

After two weeks of being held captive by suspected kidnappers, the mother of Nigeria Under-23 head coach, Madam Beauty Ogere Siasia, has regained her freedom.

The Bayelsa State police public relations officer, ASP Butswat Asinim, confirmed the development of the release of Samson Siasia's mother by her abductors .

Asinim revealed that Mrs Siasia, aged 72, who was kidnapped about two weeks ago at her Odoni country home in Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa State by three armed men.was rescued at about 1.30am on Saturday following an operation by the Bayelsa State Police Command.

“Madam Beauty Siasia, who was abducted on the 16 November, 2015, was abandoned by her abductors along the East West Road, at about 0130hrs, 28 November, 2015, due to hot pursuit by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Police Command.

“She is hale and hearty and has been reunited with her family. The Police has intensified efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects,"
said Asinim.

It would be recalled that her abductors demanded for N100million as ransom, but eventually reduced the amount to N3million.

Samson Siasia is currently with the Nigerian under-23s as they prepare to face Mali in M'Bour, Senegal this Sunday in the Caf Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which serves as the qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games men's football event.
