An assistant professor resorted to extreme violence and assault after he discovered that his 14-year-old female relative was not wearing a hijab, - a traditional headscarf that some muslim women wear.
The man dragged the teenager out of Hickman High School, slapped and beat her in public.
Police said that Youssif Z. Omar of Columbia, Missouri, who was an assistant professor at the University of Missouri, has been arrested for child abuse.
Omar was later released from the Boone County Jail after posting $4,500 bail.
