An angry crowd in Argungu town of Kebbi state has attacked and burnt an elderly woman to death, after accusing her of witchcraft.

People in the town were accusing the lady of going from ''House to House in the name of begging to snatch their souls''.

The Police has reportedly confirmed the incident.

'Witch' burning is a common and illegal practice in African countries, especially in East African countries like Tanzania and even Kenya.

The women are blamed for everything from making people sick to stealing the good fortune of others.
