Yesterday, 16 November, a suicide bomber blew herself up, killing at least 10 people and leaving 60 others injured in a phone market in Azare, Bauchi state, northern Nigeria. Although Boko Haram has not taken credit for the bombing, it has claimed responsibility for similar bomb attacks.

The attack occurred towards the end of the day when traders were packing up their wares for the day. It was at the time when people were many in the market. Eye witnesses said the female bomber entered the market in the evening, along with two men. It was said that the angry mob at the market captured the two men who accompanied the suicide bomber, killing one of them.

A witness, Alyu Habib, told AFP, “The two men tried to flee but they were pursued and apprehended. One of them was lynched to death whereas the other is now in custody.” Another eye witness said, "The explosion set the shops on fire.” Firefighters were called and they made attempts to kill the fire.
A health worker at the Federal Hospital where the injured were treated confirmed that about 10 people were killed while about 60 people were injured in the attack. This attack is the third of its kind in recent times.
