Another incident of suicide bombing has been foiled in the north-eastern part of Nigeria currently infested by member of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

A member of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, was, on Tuesday, arrested along Damboa road in Maiduguri, Borno State, by members of the vigilance group, Civilian JTF, while attempting to detonate an improvised Explosive Device (IED) at a crowded filing station according to the Nigerian Tribune.

The man reportedly infiltritrated a massive gathering of Nigerians queueing at a filling station to get fuel as a result of the fuel scarcity currently experienced in the country.

Garba Hussaini, an attendant at the filling station, who spoke with Tribune Online in Maiduguri, said: " Today, we are very lucky because there are over 500 people and many vehicles waiting to buy fuel when the sect member came with a five-litre gallon pretending to have come to buy fuel."

According to him, when one of the people controlling the crowd tried to prevent him from entering with the gallon, he got angry and brought out a knife to stab the person.

"In the process, a member of the Civilian JTF noticed that improvised explosive was tied around his waist and he quickly grabbed him before he could detonate the explosive," he added.

The suspected terrorist was immediately arrested and driven away in a Keke Napep, tricycle for prompt questioning.
