Kogi State Gubernatorial Election Candidate Suspended

As tension continues to mount in Kogi State ahead of the polls, as a governorship candidate has been suspended.

 
 The gubernatorial candidate contesting on the platform of Democratic People’s Congress (DPC), Hon. Philip Ezekiel Koleola was suspended on Tuesday, December 1, for alleged anti-party activities.
 
The candidate was suspended by the party's National Working Committee, Leadership reports.
 
 The NWC decision was made known in a statement issued and signed by the party’s national chairman, Rev. Olusegun Peters, in Abuja.
 
The suspension was a reaction to the petition received from the state chapter of the party against the flag bearer.
 
The chairman said following the huge anti-party activities allegedly committed by the governorship candidate, Hon. Koleola, the NWC of the party had to suspend him indefinitely.
 
“A disciplinary Committee will be set up to look into his anti-party activities during the governorship election in the state, and purported decision to go to court in collaboration with the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Idris Wada to challenge INEC directive to All Progressives Congress to substitute the late Abubakar Audu,” the statement read in part.
