Nigeria Customs Impounds N70million Bulletproof Cars

The Federal Operations Unit Ikeja Zone of the Nigeria Customs has intercepted bulletproof vehicles worth 70million.

 
The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, Ikeja, has impounded two Toyota Avalon armored bulletproof vehicles valued at N70 million.
 
The authority of the Customs in charge of the zone, while explaining why it impounded the vehicles, said the importer failed to pay duty to government.
 
It put the payable duty of the two vehicles at N25.5 million.
 
The Controller Zone A, Sani Madugu who made this disclosure, said that the command made seizures of various items valued at N187.103 million in two weeks.
 
Madugu also gave a compre list of seized items as follows: “Two vehicles valued at N70 million with a payable duty of N24.5m only and a Duty Paid Value of N94.5m only. 334 bales and 54 of new and used textile materials, valued at N5.28m only, with a payable duty of N1.056m and a Duty Paid Value of N6.336m. 31 cartons of assorted soap valued at N124,000 with a payable duty of N24,800 only and Duty Paid Value of one N148,000. 178 cartons of sugar, Valued at N712,000 only with a Payable Duty of N142,400 only and a Duty Paid Value of N854,400. 140 of Bonita spaghetti valued at N140,000 only with a payable duty of N28,000 only and a Duty Paid Value of N168,000 only.”
