Fire broke out at one of the hostels in Government Boys’ Secondary School, Kwankwaso in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State yesterday.

According to Daily Trust, the fire which started at about 8am while the students were at their various classes left 8 rooms and 350 students’ belongings razed.

However, with the help of the Civil Defence personnel and staff, the fire was quickly put out before it could cause more havoc.

Narrating the ordeal, one of the students said; “We saw a heavy smoke coming from one of the rooms upstairs followed by fire. Before we rushed to the affected hostel, other rooms had also been caught by the fire and within a few minutes, all the rooms were burnt. We have lost all our belongings.”

However, the affected students have been relocated to another building pending when the building would be renovated.

It was, however, confirmed by the Senior Special Adviser to the State Deputy Governor on Special Dr. Bakari Ado Hussaini, that no life was lost and nobody was injured.
