Niger Assembly Deputy Speaker Resigns

Alfa, a member representing Bida 1 at the House made his resignation known through a letter he submitted which was read during plenary.

The Deputy Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Bako Kasim Alfa has resigned from his position.

He conveyed the message of his resignation in a letter submitted to the Speaker, which was read on the floor.

The Speaker, Abdullahi Wuse, who read the letter on the floor of the House, however, did not give details on why the deputy speaker resigned.

Nomination for his replacement was moved by member representing Paikoro constituency, Suleiman Gambo Aninigi and seconded by member representing Kontagora Constituency, Sale Ibrahim Alhaji.

Jibrin Ndagi Baba, the lawmaker representing Lavun constituency was subsequently elected as the Deputy Speaker.
