$2bn Arms Deal: EFCC Ransacks Dokpesi's Abuja Residence

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission reportedly stormed the residence of former Chairman of Daar Communications Plc in furtherance to the investigation of his alleged involvement in the $2bn Arms Deal.

According to reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday combed through the Abuja residence of Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the former Chairman, DAAR Communications Plc.
 
The move was in continuation of its investigation into the controversial disbursement of $2.1bn arms procurement funds by the ex-National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
 
It was gathered that Dokpesi was taken from the custody to his house where the officials of EFCC searched the businessman’s residence for certain clues that might aid its probe. It was however not clear if they found any important document.
 
After the search, he was allegedly taken back to the EFCC headquarters, where he was kept overnight.
