Nollywood stars Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor, Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme were spotted last night at the MMIA Lagos as they prepared to travel out to the Gambia, as special guests of that country's President, Dr. Yahya Abdul-Aziz Jammeh, whose 50th birthday is today.
There's something about Nigeria's film industry that has grabbed the attention of President of The Gambia, Dr. Yahya Abdul-Aziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh, as he has invited some notable actors including Kanayo O. Kanayo, Segun Arinze, Francis Duru, Chinedu Ikedieze, Osita Iheme and Chika Okpala (Zebrudaya)to his country.
This is coming after he invited some Nollywood stars to the 50th independence anniversary of his country in February, 2015.
This time, the Gambian leader, who seized power in a 1994 military coup, has invited the stars to attend his golden jubilee birthday, which is today, May 25, as special guests.
Other Nollywood stars invited by President Jammeh for his 50th birthday are actresses Monalisa Chinda and Patience Ozokwor.
KOK, Chinedu, Osita and Patience were spotted last night at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. It is unclear if they were able to make the trip on Sunday considering the prevailing fuel scarcity, which has forced major airlines in the country to temporarily suspend flight operations or the celebrant sent a private jet to get them.
