Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Donates Constituency Allowance to Widows in Bayelsa (Photos)

Senator Ben Murray Bruce of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fulfilled his pledge to donate half of his wardrobe allowance to widows in his community at Akasa, Bayelsa state, Ben Bruce Donates Allowance to Widows.

 
Senator representing Bayelsa east senatorial district at the National Assembly, Murray-Bruce, took to social media and disclosed that he has fulfilled a promise made some months ago to donate half of his constituency allowance to widows in his constituency.
 
He said his action was necessitated by the suffering of the workers and their dependants over the inability of the state government to pay public service workers.
 
 
"I, Ben Murray Bruce, will not sit down idly, while my fellow citizens die because salaries have not been paid.

As a first step, I am immediately donating my wardrobe allowance to unpaid workers in Osun state and widows in my Constituency," he said.
 
 
In a series of tweets he posted online, the outspoken senator now know as the 'Common Senator' expressed his commitment to uplifting the conditions of his people and sharing their experiences.
 
 
On Sunday morning, Senator Bruce emphasized the need for leaders to make sacrifices for their followers. He also declared that he loves serving the Nigerian people more than any position he may ever be privileged to hold, and posted pictures of himself commuting on a motorcycle, a common means of transportation among the generality of Nigeria’s poor and middle-income earners.
