A happy event turned sad and ugly as a man who celebrated his 57th birthday with family and friends choked to death while eating beef.

A man choked to death on a piece of steak during his birthday celebration at a restaurant, police in Florida said.
The man identified as 57-year-old Christopher Russ was celebrating his birthday with family and friends at the Ted's Montana Grill when the steak choked him to death.
Fort Myers police say the man could not be saved as paramedics tried removing the steak that lodged in his throat. He was declared dead after 25-minutes of futile effort to save him. Russ’ landlord, Francine Ryan, said that the victim was very excited to eat at the Ted's Montana Grill, and spoke about his upcoming birthday celebration many times.
According to a Lee County Sheriff's Office incident report. The report simply says: "Russ was eating steak and began to choke on his food." The sheriff's office report said that Russ was there with his roommate and her father. The roommate told investigators that Russ had seen a doctor last month and "was given a clean bill of health."
He turned 57 years old two days earlier.The unfortunate incident forced his family and friends into mourning.
