INEC has finally delivered its verdict on the highly controversial election in South Ijaw of Bayelsa which was marred by violence as the election has been declared inconclusive.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cancelled Saturday’s Bayelsa State governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area which is one of the state’s eight LGAs.

According to Premium Times, the decision, which has been announced officially by INEC, means the elections are inconclusive.

INEC said the decision was taken because of violence, the abduction of electoral officials and ballot box snatching, according to details seen reporters and that the election will be conducted in due date.

Incumbent Governor, Seriake Dickson has a clear lead in the election, and according to results announced so far by INEC, he won in majority of the seven local government areas announced on Sunday and Monday by INEC.
