Appeal Court Upturns Election of APC Lawmaker, Bars Him From Contesting Rerun

An appellate court has sacked an APC lawmaker in Kogi from office with an order to restrict him from participating in a re-run set for a future date.

The election of a former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Bello, into Federal House of Assembly has been upturned by an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja, according to the Vanguard.

Delivering judgement in an appeal filed against Bello by Hon. Tijani Damisa, the court ruled that election be conducted in Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal constituency within 90 days.

The judgement also barred Abdullahi Bello from participating in the rerun election.
