The Rector of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria who was facing fraud allegations was mysteriously found dead in his Abuja residence.
Rector of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron in Akwa Ibom state, Joshua Okpo, who is facing a N18 billion fraud allegation was found dead in his Abuja residence on Tuesday, December 8.
According to Premium Times, Okpo had traveled to Abuja to appear before the senate committee on Transportation when he slumped and died in his home.
His colleagues who traveled to Abuja with him had arrived the National Assembly and were waiting for his arrival.
When he did not show up and was not taking any of their calls, they decided to visit his home where they found him dead.
The cause of death was not yet known.
Mr. Okpo’s body was said to have been deposited in the mortuary at the National Hospital, Abuja.
